SECTION 5: SELECTING THE

RECOGNITION OPTIONS

Readiris converts scanned images, image files and PDF files into

editable text documents and text-searchable PDF documents. In

order for Readiris to recognize the text in your images, you need to

activate the correct recognition options.

Tip: it is recommended to set the document recognition options before you

scan or open any documents in Readiris. The reason for this is that Readiris

carries out the document recognition simultaneously while opening or

scanning multiple pages.

The recognition options are located in the Languages group.

Advanced recognition options are available via the expansion arrow

in the Configuration group.

Below you find an overview of the different options.

The Main language

The Main language is by far the most important recognition option.

The quality of the document recognition depends a great deal on
